The Rural Clinical School offers medical students opportunities to experience the diversity of education in rural health and medical practice in a challenging and stimulating environment. The School aims to produce competent and compassionate doctors with substantial clinical training in rural, regional and remote New South Wales - with an educational philosophy that emphasises the importance of learning in context. We encourage our students to take a broader view of medicine and understand the breadth of health care that is delivered within a team of health care professionals.

Rural medical students are encouraged to return to rural regions and inspire other students to consider a career in a thriving regional centre. Rural rotations are an exciting opportunity for students to expand their cultural and medical experience and discover a different lifestyle. The unique needs of rural and Indigenous communities also allow students to treat a spectrum of diseases, illnesses and health issues not represented in urban hospitals.
