Biomedical Resources Advisory Group - (BRAG)
The Faculty of Medicine
“Biomedical Resources Advisory Group” (BRAG) is an advisory group to the Associate Dean Research, to provide a primary voice for formulating policy and co-ordinated investment strategies for the management and expansion of core research facilities.
In particular,
BRAG will assist with developing co-operative policies for animal model-based biomedical research and other core infrastructure. Allied with this is the development of biomedical imaging resources at the Kensington Campus (School of Medical Sciences and the Lowy Cancer Research Centre) and the fostering of cross-institutional access to imaging platforms.
BRAG will develop policies for the use of the animal facilities, – supporting the operation of the BR (Biological Resources of the Faculty of Medicine) as well as providing a conduit for co-ordinating with core animal facilities within the C25 building (Lowy Cancer Research Centre (CCIA) / CVR complex), and assist with access to animal models off-campus, including allied centres, such as POWMRI, Garvan Institute, St. George Hospital and the Moss Vale Facility.
BRAG will also facilitate the development of biomedical imaging resources, particularly with regard to information on access and training on imaging platforms that include the Animal Imaging Facility (AIL) and Microscopy and Histology Unit in the Wallace Wurth building, as well as sponsoring co-operation and collaboration with imaging resources in the wider environs of UNSW and allied research institutes.
