What Works

Policy makers and politicians often ask “what works” in illicit drug policy. However, this is a complicated question and depends on a range of factors, most notably why and for whom the program is aimed, what policy options are included or excluded, and the political, economic and social circumstances surrounding the program implementation.

To advance the evidence-base around "what works" the DPMP research team will provide access in this section to summary documents that will assist in:

  • defining all the possible policy options available
  • summarise the evidence-base for selected illicit drug policy topics
  • provide comparative analyses of different policy options
As we add new documents, we will post the additions under “what’s new”.
