CPHCE staff awarded PHCRED fellowships
Two CPHCE staff members have been awarded prestigious fellowships as part of the government’s Primary Health Care Research Evaluation and Development (PHCRED) strategy.
Prof Mark Harris and Dr Lynn Kemp have both been awarded fellowships to expand their programs of primary health care research, two of only twelve such fellowships awarded nationally.
Prof Harris’ fellowship will enable him to continue his research into the prevention and management of chronic disease. “This is a real opportunity to advance the centre’s work into this important area” he said.
Dr Kemp’s grant is for ‘the integrated provision of comprehensive primary health care services in early childhood’ and will enable her to build on her strong track record in this area.
Dr Melina Gattelari from the School of Public Health and Community Medicine, who has collaborated with CPHCE on a number of projects, was also awarded a fellowship, a further recognition of the strength of primary health care research at UNSW.
