Small Research Grants awarded to three PHReNet members



PHReNet continues to support practice based research


The Primary Health Care Research Network (PHReNet), based at the University of New South Wales, is pleased to announce that the following PHReNet members were successful in the latest round of the Small Research Grants Scheme:

Ms Terri Elliott-Farrelly, Programs Coordinator, Illawarra Aboriginal Medical Service Aboriginal Corporation, Shoalhaven & Illawarra Aboriginal attitudes towards suicide and suicide prevention.

Dr Paul Lam, General Practitioner, A Randomized Controlled Trial Assessing the Effectiveness of Tai Chi for People with Type 2 Diabetes.

Dr John Shephard, General Practioner, Web-based lifestyle interventions in Primary Care: A qualitative study of adoption factors.

Funding under the Scheme supports PHReNet members to develop their research skills and ideas over an 18-month period. Keep tuned to hear more about the projects and people supported by PHReNet in the future.

PHReNet, is an initiative of the UNSW Research Capacity Building Program, which is funded under a grant from the Australian Government Department of Health and Ageing.
