CPHCE becomes an official centre
The Centre for Primary Health Care and Equity has become an official research centre of the University of New South Wales.
This exciting development represents a great opportunity for the Centre to re-examine and build upon its work and achievements over the last few years. With increased government interest in new models and initiatives in primary health care and equity this is a critical time for us and our research.
The merger of the Centres creates a single pool of capacity and expertise that makes it more viable and attractive to funders. Further, it builds upon our well established and excellent track record in conducting leading edge research with significant transfer potential to health policy and service development at all levels of government as well as teaching and curriculum development in the Faculty of Medicine.
The challenge for the future is to further develop our research themes, capacity, partnerships and networks which form “laboratories” in the community in order to consolidate and build upon our reputation, in Australia and beyond, of conducting Research That Makes A Difference.
