2007 RACGP CVD grant success at GP unit
Dr Sanjyot Vagholkar, GP Unit staff specialist, has been awarded a $25 000 Royal Australian College of General Practice (RACGP) Cardiovascular Research Grant in General Practice 2007.
Dr Vagholkar, will be investigating ‘Absolute risk assessment in general practice - a pilot study to measure impact on prescribing and adherence to guidelines’. Her co-investigators on this research are Prof. Nicholas Zwar and Prof. Mark Harris.
The Cardiovascular Research Grants (CVRGs) in General Practice are a joint initiative of the RACGP and the Australian Association of Academic General Practice (AAAGP). The program is sponsored by Pfizer Australia.
Projects funded by this grant seek to investigate various aspects of cardiovascular disease including hypertension, stroke, lipid disorder, health promotion and lifestyle changes.
