Centre for General Practice Integration Studies
The Centre for General Practice Integration Studies (CGPIS) undertakes research and development work in primary health care, particularly in general practice. It was founded in 1996 to host the Integration SERU (Support and Evaluation Resource Unit) for the Divisions of General Practice Program and a GPEP funded program grant on integration. Since then, we have undertaken many projects in the areas of chronic disease prevention and management, information systems and health services integration. Much of this has been in support of national programs.
The Centre works closely with state and Commonwealth departments of health, the Divisions of General Practice network, non-government organisations and consumer groups.
CGPIS became part of the Centre for Primary Health Care and Equity in 2005.
