Teaching Interests
I am a committed teacher and believe in the value of the scholarship of teaching and learning, as well as reflective practice. In this regard, I have completed a diploma of teaching in Higher Education (UNSW) 1998, as well as an Innovative Teaching and Educational Technology (ITET3) Fellowship in 2002. In 2003, I was the recipient of a The Australian College of Educators and NSW Minister for Education's Quality Teaching Award, as well as the UNSW Vice Chancellor's Award for Teaching Excellence. In 2006, I received a Faculty of Medicine Award for Innovation in Teaching and Learning, and in 2007 I was awarded a Carrick Citation for the development and implementation of online formative assessments in the biomedical sciences, which provide automated feedback and motivate independent learning.

I am currently Head of Teaching in Pathology within the School of Medical Sciences, Convenor of the Biomedical Sciences component in Phase 3 of the New Medicine Programme (NMP) at UNSW, Convenor of Pathology teaching in Phase 2 of the NMP, member of the Ageing and Endings Design and Implementation Group (DIG) in Phase 1, member of the Health Maintenance DIG in Phase 2. I am also responsible for the development and implementation of online formative assessments throughout Phase 1 of the NMP.
