Development of the IDRS
Technical Report 292 is a reprinted version of an original report submitted by Dr Grant Wardlaw to the Australian Government Department of Health Ageing. The report reviews methods for monitoring illicit drug trends, and presents important contextual information on the historical origins of the IDRS and its sister project - the EDRS (Ecstasy and Related Drug Reporting System). (full text pdf version)
Further information about the development and achievements of the IDRS, is provided in a paper written by Dr Libby Topp – ‘ A timely, effective and cost effective way to support evidence-based policy making’.
Development of the EDRS
Further information on the development of the EDRS, including the feasiblity of adapting the IDRS methodology to monitor ecstasy and related drugs, is provided in Technical Reports 142 (full text pdf version) and 236 (full text pdf version).
