Support
PHReNet provides mentoring and support for new primary health care researchers interested in undertaking research and evaluation projects. PHReNet members have access to research mentors that can provide assistance and advice with:
- Transforming research ideas into answerable research questions.
- Appropriate study design for specific research projects.
- Preparing a funding application
- Provide statistical advice at the design and analysis stage.
- mentoring an existing research project.
- Writing reports and papers
- Program evaluation.
Our policy is to guide members through the process of research (ie. we do not do the work for you). All requests for research support are assessed to determine the level and type of support required. As resources are limited, preference is given to projects that compliment the academic expertise of CPHCE mentors.
In providing support we ask that you agree to the following:
- Any project receiving support (financial or otherwise) must apply for and obtain ethical approval before commencing the project. PHReNet staff can assist with this process.
- Any publications or presentations arising from the project should acknowledge PHReNet funding and support.
- PHReNet staff should be advised of all publications and presentations arising from the project in order to assess and report on the effectiveness of the support role of PHReNet.
- That opportunities for joint authorship and publication be explored with PHReNet where appropriate.
